PILOT KNOB LUTHERAN COMMUNIQUÉ

(Official communication to the public)

                                            5/10/17

Picking up from last week, I asked questions about our origin and depending on what we believe will influence our understanding and response to life.

The bible makes it very clear that we are created by God and in his image.  In his image includes moral responsibility, the ability to love, reason and most of all know God as in a family relationship.  No other living creature on earth has that God given ability.  Think about it for a moment; God has not left us to work out life on our own as he watches from afar.  The God who is responsible for life and all that exists, both visible and invisible can be known and is here with us.

Being created by God provides purpose for our existence we, are not the product of chance with no reason for being.  We are here to worship our creator and give testimony to his existence and love.  We are also to discover God’s purpose for life on a day-to-day basis.  We’ve been given abilities and opportunities to use what God has given to honor him and bless others.  No matter what your vocation or vocational status, God has a purpose for you.  You are not a nameless being living out your life on earth.

Along with a purpose is your eternal soul.  God has placed in every human being eternity.  When you breath your last you will be instantly transferred to either heaven or hell.  The determining factor is not how good you’ve been but what you did with Jesus Christ before you die. John 20:31 But these (the gospel of John)  are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.
