(Official communication to the public)

Yesterday we enjoyed the annual celebration of our nation’s 241 years of declared independence from the Crown of England. Achieving that goal by the citizens of the 13 colonies demanded great sacrifice of family, fortune and lives.  It required a unified army and population as a whole which at times wavered.

As we look back at the fledgling colonies and their new found freedom and independence it is clear what we see is the providential hand of the Almighty working through men and women who for the vast majority daily looked to Jesus Christ and His word for wisdom and strength as well as intervention. It had to be the hand and will of God for a rag-tag army make up of farmers, merchants and teachers and even clergy to stand up against the world’s most formidable military and navy.

Our liberty is truly a gift from God and only by loving and honoring God will we maintain our liberty. We don’t deserve it; we can’t preserve it unless God, not gold, power or tolerance, be our God.

There are too many countries and individuals, here and abroad that seek our destruction.  Pr. 16:7 When a man’s ways are pleasing to the Lord, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him. Can we truly say as a nation we are at peace with God?  Can you say you live in peace with God?

Pr. Bob
