(Official communication to the public)

After the water receded from the earth leaving behind fossils, separated continents, canyons and so on, there were only eight people left on the entire globe. God gave Noah’s family a command as he did Adam and Eve, multiply and fill the earth. (Gen. 9:1) Over many centuries the population greatly increased thus obeying part of God’s command.

However, they did not obey “and fill the earth.”  The people of that time didn’t want to ‘leave town’. Genesis 11:1, 4. Now the whole world had one language and a common speech. Now the whole world had one language and a common speech.   It was in Shinar that a tower was being built that “reaches to the heavens so that we may make a name for ourselves and not be scattered. . .”  The tower is known as a ziggurat or the Tower of Babel was meant to be a staircase from earth to heaven. It was purely a humanistic, godless effort of man trying to reach heaven on his own terms.

Remember, everyone spoke one language since at that time they were all descendants of Noah and his family. With no language barriers there would be no barriers as to what they could accomplish in pursuing a life without God. Gen 11.6 The Lord said, “If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them.

God’s grace and love shows through again by confusing their language and  thus forcing people groups to move away and fill the earth. This is how different languages came about; God himself imparted them to rebellious people. As families who spoke the same language moved to a different part of the world over time they adapted to their climate and other factors resulting in varying degrees of skin color, and physical features. These features and skin color we consider indicators of different races. However, how many races are there in the world today?  ONE! We all come from Adam and Noah.  God created one human race but with differing features. Remove the lie of evolution and you have the truth – one human race created in the image of God. For this reason all people, from the president to the homeless including all skin colors deserve the same respect as human beings. Acts 17:26  From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands.     It is high time we drop the idea of different races and adopt the truth; we all belong to one human race.
