VOTE!!

Pilot Knob Lutheran       VOTE!!        10/2/2024

When this comes in your email box there will be twenty-eight days before the election, one that will impact the direction of America and the world for generations to come. This is a very serious time for America and the world, too serious not to vote.

I know many are soured by the last election that in my opinion was stolen, so why bother voting. First of all: we are citizens of the City of God. Therefore, we are to live in accordance with God’s law, to self-govern according to the love of God and neighbor. Second: our most important commitments are to love God and neighbor It shapes our values which in turn shapes our votes. Whatever issues we prioritize are first and foremost moral issues with political implications. Third: Political involvement should be engaged year-round by building or strengthening the family, church, neighbors, and communities. If we do, the state won’t need to.

Bottom line in this election: will America continue down the road to communism (Marxism) or return to our Constitutional Republic? It is that critical. We will either keep our liberties or we continue to lose them.

Vote and encourage others to vote for the candidate who best advocates a biblical worldview.

“Our battle is not between political parties—it’s
a matter of good versus evil. Truth versus lies.
And God’s absolute truth never changes—no matter
how our culture tries to redefine it.”

Seventh Sunday After Easter

Today we come together to receive the body and blood of our Savior Jesus Christ. As the apostle Paul taught his church, whoever eats the bread and drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord. (1 Corinthians 11:17-34)

Not by Might

‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty.

Source of Hope

Psalm 62 was written by King David during a very difficult and dangerous time in his life and family. It is during those times that we need outside help and support.

Fifth Sunday after Easter

“God has provided enough evidence in this life to convince anyone willing to believe, yet he has also left some ambiguity so as not to compel the unwilling.”

Speak Up

I was reading through Jeremiah and was struck by what was written about Judah. The nation continued to move away from God and worship everything but the living God and ignored the prophets who warned of God’s impending judgment. God warned Judah and Jerusalem that they would be destroyed as a result to their idolatry.
