First Sunday in Lent

I was reading through Jeremiah and was struck by what was written about Judah. The nation continued to move away from God and worship everything but the living God and ignored the prophets who warned of God’s impending judgment. God warned Judah and Jerusalem that they would be destroyed as a result to their idolatry.

John 3:17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

I’m returning to our Sunday morning memory verses now that lent is over. Sunday’s verse for the week is John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
