Isaiah 55 mentions the power and activity of God’s Word. I noted last Sunday that His Word is creative, and active. It is spoken, written and personified in Jesus Christ. In Hebrews 1:1-2 we are told: In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe. Again, Gods speaks to us not by an audible voice, but through His written Word that was spoken. Everything spoken by Jesus and written in scripture is absolute truth. It contains no lies or misinformation, and that is hard to find now days.
However, there are very few absolute moral truths that many people believe, Christian and non-Christian alike. We could begin with the Ten Commandments as absolute moral truths. They are not ten suggestions because they came from the very voice of God to Moses and they give and protect life.
What about His love for all people? That too is an absolute truth; that includes you who are reading this. John 3:16 “For God so loved the world…”. Replace ‘world’ with your name and you have an absolute truth that declares that you are so loved that Jesus was willing to suffer and die in your place so you could avoid separation (hell) from God and live forever in His Kingdom.
You are of such value and worth that He is ready at any moment to listen to you and answer in a way that is best and at the best time. Jeremiah 33:3 ‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’ He may not answer at all or with a ‘no’ if it is in your best interest.
God is actively working in the spiritual world through His authoritative Word to transform lives, rescue from Satan’s power and provide peace with God that we can experience today. Don’t’ neglect His Word; read it, study it, learn it and share it. It is your spiritual food and at times a spiritual ‘energy drink.’

Isaiah 55:10-11 As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.
