Jesus did not talk like a modern-day politician; you know how they can evade a question or beat around the bush or use a lot of words and say nothing. Jesus was straight forward and clear when he talked of the reality of good and bad seed, good and evil people and the final outcome.
We all deal with weeds in a garden, flower bed or fields. They must be dealt with every year. Generally, if you don’t use some kind of herbicide, you will be pulling weeds. That’s not too bad unless those weeds are among young carrots, beets or lettuce, then it’s hard not to pull up what you don’t want to uproot.
Jesus tells us that in this world, until the end of time, Christians will be living side-by-side with people who are believers, people who are doubters and people who are enemies of the gospel. The ‘weeds’ remain until God’s angels are sent at the end of time and pulls them from the world and throws them into the lake of fire know. Christians will be separated out and will be welcomed into heaven, a true Paradice.
It is clear Jesus teaches the reality that there are only two eternal destinations for all of humanity. The Kingdom of God or a lake of fire, aka hell. That’s not hard to understand unless one’s heart is hard due to holding on to sin, or unforgiveness or blaming God for something one didn’t like. Any one or a combination of them can over time create a heart that is stubborn, and unmoved by truth and God’s love. If you are concerned about a ‘weed’ you know of, pray for them that God would soften their heart and come to faith in Jesus Christ.
