Peace of Jerusalem

Pilot Knob Lutheran               Peace of Jerusalem                         10/11/2023Psalm 122:6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: “May those who love you be secure.”We are all shocked with the horrific brutality brought upon innocent Israeli citizens by terrorists who have no compassion, but only hate for Israel and America: Jews and Christians. Israel has had to deal with conflict, war, lies and death for at least 3k years, something we in America don’t understand. Some here at home say Israel is to blame even thought they were attacked. There is growing anti-Semitic protests on college campuses which shows what they are teaching.  This war with Israel is not about terrorist aggression trying to acquire land, it goes much deeper. It has spiritual dimensions. This is a spiritual war by the powers of darkness trying to destroy and create fear in the hearts of Jews and Christians. Satan hates Israel and America and will keep working until they are annihilated. However, that won’t happen because God will fight for his people and the powers of hell will and cannot destroy the church. Scriptures tells us that this world and its desires will pass away but he who does the will of God will live forever. Also, God’s Word is eternal and has the final word. ( John 1) We must be praying for Israel, the Christians there, military leaders and the prime minister. We must pray for our own government which has been very soft on terrorist countries and giving them our money with no strings attached. We can no longer show weakness and try compromising with an enemy that has vowed to destroy both Israel and America.  I believe the promise remains that God will bless those who bless Israel and will judge those who curse them. This war will have global ramifications and we must not become complacent thinking we are too far away or powerful for things to turn ugly here. God is not exactly pleased with America’s butchering 60 million innocent babies, advancing secularism, communism, and spiritual adultery. It is past time to wake up and stand up for our rights and what is right.Pr. Bob Snitzer By the Way:Today: 3:45 Confirmation class.  October 8, 9:00 AM Morning worship. Sermon: 1 Samuel 8:12-22 . History, Philosophy, and Christian Apologetics:
Specializing in Resurrection-of-Jesus Research
Billions profess to believe in the historical existence, death, and supernatural resurrection of Jesus. This man from Nazareth, a working-class Jew, made an exclusive claim to personal deity. The size of his popular religion and this one audacious claim refuse to be ignored, yet neither one amounts to evidence.

Gary Habermas has dedicated his professional life to the examination of the relevant historical, philosophical, and theological issues surrounding the death and resurrection of Jesus. His extensive list of publications and debates provides a thorough account of the current state of the issue. Christian believers as well as unbelievers may find within the contents of this site a strong argument for the philosophical possibility of miracles and the historicity of the resurrection of Jesus, as well as the theological and practical implications of this event. This site has a lot of free information regarding the one topic that if it is not true Christianity falls flat. Check it out at: https://garyhabermas.com/

This is the Day

Perspective can change everything, and it comes down to our choice. You’ve heard it before; We can look at a glass and see that it is either half full or half empty. One is a positive outlook and one is negative, and both perspectives are correct.

Psalm 118:24 “This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.”

Last Sunday of the Church Year

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. John 14:27

My Peace I Give You

John 14:27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

Peace treaties here and there. There is so much conflict in our world, no wonder many live in fear, anxiety and with little hope of improvement. Peace is usually defined as the absence of conflict. Some want peace at any price which often leads to regret giving up what you would rather hold on to.
