The New Year

I don’t’ know about you, but 2021 went by very fast and was filled with unpleasant changes. Will 2022 be any better? Only time will tell. However, should we base our happiness and hope on what takes place in 2022? There isn’t much we can do to control events or the demands of others. What we can do is control the choices we make on a daily basis. It is often those choices that add up to significant changes in life. Sometimes a simple decision can make a huge difference not only for ourselves but others as well.

We can look back at 2021 and bemoan what went wrong or we could look back and rejoice at what went right and our achievements. As long as we can learn from and apply those lessons to life, we’ll be all the wiser. If we get stuck in the mire of disappointments and unrealized expectations then we won’t do ourselves or others any good. Paul said in Philippians 3:13 One thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead. Not that Paul lost the memory of his horrible past but he sees it as leaving it behind as being done with and has settled his past failures, mistakes and regrets and will not allow them to drag him down or away from God’s love and hope. As followers of Jesus Christ our guilty past is washed away by the blood of his son, forever!

As we begin 2022 know that God already knows what will happen the entire year. He holds you in his hands and protects you with his righteous right (power) hand from all darkness. We have nothing to fear but fear itself because our name is written in the Lambs book of life and man nor evil can erase it.

What can you do to make 2022 a better year for yourself and others regardless of what the year brings?

It was not luck or fortune that a man wrote a prediction 740 years before its time about one male baby who would be born under unusual circumstances. What were those circumstances?

Third Sunday in Advent

And those who know Your name will put their
trust in You; For You, Lord, have not forsaken
those who seek You. Psalm 9:10

Not Alone

Psalm 9:7-10 The Lord reigns forever; he has established his throne for judgment. He rules the world in righteousness and judges the peoples with equity. The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. Those who know your name trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you.

Thanksgiving Message

The Bible is filled with passages referring to giving thanks and praise. Psalm 95:2 Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song. Psalm 100:4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.
