Many Ways

Pilot Knob Lutheran        Many Ways?            9/17/2024

Recently it was reported that a very high-profile denominational leader stated that all religions are paths to the same God. This was said to Christians living in Singapore. It’s like different religions are simply a different language talking about the same God. Really!? Can we lump all the world’s religions into one basket and say they all lead to the God who created and redeemed us? Hardly! They all have their own god and sacred writings and none of them completely agree on everything, therefore, religious doctrine will be contradicted.

Jesus made it very clear that he was NOT a way, a truth, a life, but the way, truth, and life. He says no one comes to the Father except through me. (John 14:6) Anyone else who makes a similar claim is an imposter and liar speaking Satan’s native language. He is the great deceiver and the enemy of every Christian. Follow his lead and your eternal destination will be the same as his.

John 1:12 To all who did receive Him, He gave them the right to be children of God,

to those who believe in His name. Eternal life is not in practicing a religion, no matter how sincere you may be. Proverbs 14:12 There is a way that seems right to a man,

but its end is the way to death.

Where is eternal life found. In a person, the God-man Jesus Christ who alone could die in our place and pay the penalty for sin which is death. Place your faith in Jesus Christ, turn away from sin and turn to Him (repentance) and you receive forgiveness, eternal life, and the Holy Spirit immediately comes into you bringing life, peace, mercy, love and grace. No other religion can make this claim because their leader remains in his grace leaving his followers to practice a dead religion. Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Christmas Eve in a German Labor Camp during WWII

We prayed that God would miraculously
sustain our strength; each day our food rations
diminished so the German soldiers on the
battlefronts could receive more food. Shortly
after all of us Christians had prayed for
physical strength, the neighboring farmers
again rallied for us.
